JOHN MUIR: THE LEGEND BEHIND OUR BEARD OIL
All of our beard oils are associated with a legendary bearded man of history and, naturalist, mountaineer, and author, John Muir, is no exception but he is a bit unique: he was the first manly figure around which our beard oil was designed. Muir's love for the out of doors, his inspirational work in preserving our National Parks, and, of course, his beard, captured the essence of what we wanted to create: the best possible beard oil for men who are a bit rustic and yet refined when suits the occasion.
THE SCENT: WOODSY, BRIGHT, WARM, & CALM
Taking care of your beard should be an experience you look forward to, not a chore. Our beard oil is light, quickly absorbed (never greasy), with a touch of scent that is just right for when your lady is close by.
The character notes in the Muir-inspired beard oil are reminiscent of fir and spruce trees with warm middle notes and a bit of spice.
BOTTLE ART AND NEVER-SPILL DESIGN
We believe art should be evident in every thing that touches another person. It's the gentleman in us. The image of John Muir is an intaglio etching created by artist Erik and the backdrop is accented with the topography of Muir Woods. The amber bottle is reminiscent of the old apothecary bottles, and is not only handsome, but keeps the sun out, necessary to maintain essential oil quality.
HOW LONG DOES A BOTTLE TYPICALLY LAST?
Assuming two drops a day, which be typically enough for a medium beard, a bottle should last about 2 months. Ideally, beard oil would be applied anytime after the beard has been washed.
WILL BEARD OIL HELP ME GROW A THICKER BEARD?
Perhaps, but probably not. Genes, diet, and overall health are going to be the main factors in beard growth. However, well hydrated beard hairs are both thicker and richer in appearance. So, while beard oil won't plant new follicles, it can help maximize what you have.
ARE THERE ANY ALLERGY CONSIDERATIONS I SHOULD BE CONCERNED ABOUT?
We always recommend trying any new beard care product out on a small area of skin first, just to be safe. Argan oil comes from a nut and there are various essential oils in our recipes as well. So, while we can't think of anything specific, play it safe and test first.
